Payroll Release notes Week 5 2023

Over the last week, the payroll product team has been hard at work to release new updates to our payroll platform. There have been important additions in line with government compliance regarding Paid family and domestic violence leave and system upgrades.

New PFDVL Requirements 

Effective 1 Feb 2023 a new leave entitlement of 10 days Paid family and domestic violence leave will be available for all employees of non-small businesses (more than 15 employees). For small business employers (less than 15 employees) this entitlement will become effective 1 Aug 2023. New pay category, leave category and work type have been added into the platform and leave allowance templates have been updated to include the new leave entitlement, these changes will apply to all new and existing businesses. Updated awards for PFDVL Requirements

Effective 1 Feb 2023, employees (of employers with 15 or more employees) will be entitled to 10 days Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave. All 49 pre-built system awards have been updated to disable the unpaid Family and Domestic leave and all rulesets have been reviewed and adjusted based on Fair Work requirements.

Aquaculture Industry Award [MA000114]

New Pre-built system award that covers any employees under the Aquaculture Industry Award. Read more here.

Freshbooks Integration Update

As part of our Freshbooks integration, users on the plus plan can now utilise the Expenses feature.

 

ETPs and Opening Balances

This updates ensures an STP event is reported correctly when an employee's Opening Balances have been included. This benefits any users who have migrated to the payroll platform mid-financial year. Read more here

 

Bulk update leave balances in a pay run

Currently adjusting leave balances can be a time consuming process if there are multiple employees that require changes to leave balances. This is due to only being able to adjust leave for one employee at a time. This enhancement will mean that multiple employees leave balances can be adjusted in a bulk action. Read more here
