SCHCDS Award - How does employee pay vary depending on which sector of the award they're in?

Explaining some of the key clause differences for staff covered under different sectors

There are a number of clauses in the MA000100 Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 that only apply to staff covered under particular sectors, or who are performing particular kinds of work. The below video covers how differences in whether a social and community services (SACS) employee is performing disability or non-disability services work can affect their entitlements to minimum shift times  (per clause 10.5) and broken shift allowances (per clause 25.6):

In the case above, the key difference is that the minimum engagement for a SACS non-disability worker entitles George to a total of 6 hours worth of pay, while the broken shift penalty (which is only applicable to disability services and home care employees) entitles Jean to a broken shift allowance.

It should also be noted that clause 28.1 which covers overtime rates for full time staff also discriminates between staff working in different sectors, specifically between clause 28.1 (a) (i) which covers full time disability services, home care and day care employees, and clause 28.1 (a) (ii) which covers full time social and community services and crisis accommodation employees.
