Whats the best position when mounting an iPad to run Noahface?

How to physically mount an iPad to run NoahFace.

Mounting Position

Access Control

The first thing to consider when installing NoahFace for Access Control is where to physically mount the iPad. Where possible, the iPad should be mounted:
• Next to the door on the opening side.
• With the camera eye is between 150cm and 155cm from the ground.
• With the camera eye at the top of the iPad.

If the iPad cannot be mounted next to the door (eg: due to glass paneling), you may need to
consider mounting it at a slight angle, so that the camera is looking at people approaching the door. This will require either a wedge or a hinge mount:

This mounting position is extremely important and sets the foundations for good recognition results.

Time and Attendance

The first thing to consider when installing NoahFace for Time and Attendance or other interactive applications is where to physically mount the iPad.

  • Where possible, the iPad should be mounted:
  • At a location that has constant light during the day (ie: not facing a window).
  • Either:
    • Flush to a wall, with the camera eye is between 150cm and 155cm from the ground.
At approximately 120cm from the ground, angled slightly towards the ceiling.
On a bench, angled even more towards the ceiling.
  • With the camera eye at the top of the iPad.
  • Securely, so the iPad cannot be moved, tilted, or easily stolen.
  • Tilting the iPad allows people of varying heights to more easily interact with the iPad.

The diagrams below show these possible mounting positions.
