Pay Cat and Astalty exchange employee updates directly via API. Sync is triggered manually by a user rather than running automatically.

Bi-directional sync. Name and email, pay rate/classification, and leave balances flow from Pay Cat to Astalty. Leave requests flow the other way, from Astalty back to Pay Cat.

Pay classification comes through via the employment agreement, mapped to a costing profile, not as a raw hourly rate.

Sync runs when manually triggered by a user in Astalty, rather than automatically on a webhook.

Staff are matched directly using their Pay Cat Employee ID.

Astalty also supports a spreadsheet export, formatted with the headers needed for direct import into Pay Cat/Employment Hero Payroll. Kilometres driven appear as a separate row.

Custom work types and service types can be mapped to Pay Cat cost items.

Active time has defined start and end times, and the sleepover is split so it never overlaps the wake-up time, so no manual adjustment is needed.

Travel time is captured in Astalty and exported to Pay Cat as a timesheet line.

Astalty notes they can easily add further custom properties on request.
