Allowance Description

A leading hand allowance is payable to an employee who is in charge of other employees. A leading hand will be paid the higher of: 

  • the rate prescribed for the highest class of work supervised, or
  • their own classification rate with the following additional allowance:

    In charge of

    Less than 3 employees

    3 to 6 employees

    32.65

    More than 6 employees

    39.53



What to pay

$1.04 per hour up to a maximum of $39.53 per week, payment in addition to the minimum wage for the highest classification supervised, or own minimum wage, whichever is higher
