Allowance Description

An engine driver, engaged inside the gas or water space of any boiler, flue or economiser, in cleaning or scraping work must be paid an allowance of $2.15 per hour while so employed.

The allowance is paid instead of the special rates for hot places, wet places, confined spaces, dirty work or boiler repairs.
